We took the opportunity to release "Greatest Hits And More" on a DOUBLE package simply because it contains a such a feast of brilliant music. As the title implies this great double album package has ALL the hits and more! We're talkin' "Catch The Wind" (No.4 UK, No.23 US '65), "Colours" (No.4 UK, No.61 US, '65), the magnificent "Sunshine Superman" (No.2 UK, No.1 US '66) and the fantasmagorical and very trippy "Mellow Yellow" (No.8 UK, No.2 US '66/'67). Add to the mix other gems like "Epistle To Dippy" (No.19 US '67), the calypso-like "There Is A Mountain" (No.8 UK, No.11 US '67), the nursery rhyme-like "Jennifer Juniper" (No.5 UK, No.26 US '68), the WILD "Hurdy Gurdy Man" (No.4 UK, No.5 US '68) and the freaky "Atlantis" (No.23 UK, No.7 US '68). Oh yeah, let's not forget the BRILLIANT "Goo Goo Barabajagal" (No.12 UK, No.36 US '69) with the Jeff Beck Group. Convinced? You should be. Absolutely essential on 180g!!"

Robert Allan Zimmerman’s 2nd album, and the one which effectively introduced him to the mass market in both the US (No.22, US ‘63) and the UK (No.1, UK ’64), is a welcome addition to our 160 gram range. “The Freewheeling Bob Dylan” is obviously one of the classic albums of all time and is now considered to be a landmark record in Rock & Roll music history and certainly the one which ‘broke’ him to a massive national and worldwide audience. Naturally the album is choc full of Dylan’s own particular brand of ‘talking blues’ and, as a result, features a brace of great songs from the singer/songwriter at his creative best! Contains at least a couple of historical classics including “Blowin’ In The Wind” and “A Hard Rains A-Gonna Fall” to name but two. Great cover pic of the 22 year old Dylan walking in snow covered New York street with a nice chick! Excellent sleeve notes too. A ‘must have’ album for vinyl freaks everywhere and a standard item in most serious people’s collections..

"Blonde On Blonde" was Dylan's 7th album in a row and his first double following the huge success of "Highway 61 Revisited". The album was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee and released in August 1966 to immediate critical and commercial acclaim. Featuring such sterling musicians as Charlie McCoy, Joe South and Al Kooper, "Blonde On Blonde" proved that Dylan's creative abilities were still operating at max speed. Probably just as well since Bob almost totalled himself in a motorbike accident right after the album - an event which lead to a two year hiatus in his work until "John Wesley Harding" came along two years later. Nice Gatefold sleeve featuring a full-length pic of a chirpy looking Bob plus some black and white pics of Bob with chics n' spliffs etc. Vintage Vinyl!

We continue with our Bob Dylan reissues with the superb “Nashville Skyline” (No.1 UK, No.3 US ’69). Right from the git-go this is yet another classic Dylan offering which kicks off with a blistering duet with Johnny Cash –“Girl From The North Country”. As per usual this is another sterling piece of work featuring the late Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers to name just a few of the contributors. A No.1 album in the UK and a top 3 album on the other side of the Atlantic, “Nashville Skyline” extended Dylan’s fantastic creative run in the ‘60’s. Also contains the smash hit “Lay Lady Lay” as well as the usual crème de la crème of Dylan tunes at a point when he was very much on a creative run. An automatic add to anyone’s collection, especially on the super price-friendly re-issue!!

Continuing with the task of re-issuing virtually every Bob Dylan album in history we now go back to 1970 and “New Morning” (No.1 UK, No.7 US ’70). Featuring a sterling line-up of Dylan on both acoustic and electric guitars, organ and piano, Dave Bromberg on guitar and dobro, Charlie Daniels on bass and Al Kooper on organ, piano & French horns amongst many other musicians, “New Morning” continued Bob Dylan’s unbelievable chart run into the 1970’s. As usual “New Morning” contains a wealth of classic Dylan tracks including “If Not For You” (as covered by Olivia Newton-John of all people), “Time Passes Slowly”, “If Dogs Run Free”, “New Morning” itself, “Sign On The Window”, “Three Angels” and “Father Of Night” among many others. Whilst many critics consider that Dylan was going through a less commercial period at this time, there is no doubt that the hardcore Dylan fans disagreed. Another one for the collection!

"Blood On The Tracks" (No.1 US, No.4 UK '75) is quite simply one of Bob Dylan's greatest releases and stacks right up there with "Highway 61 Revisited" and "Blonde And Blonde" for Dylan aficionados. "Blood On The Tracks" documents Dylan's own disintegrating relationships with a high degree of personal honesty which is almost painful to listen to at times. The whole album almost recalls the misery of Leonard Cohen at his prime, especially on tracks like the harrowing "If You See Her Say Hello" - surely one of the saddest songs in rock music history. However, having said all that, the album has a strong sense of survivability and is even quite optimistic in terms of Dylan eventually getting over his traumas and moving on in life. In short, this is easily one of Dylan's most personal albums and it's popularity since it's release has underscored it's appeal ever since. Few albums can match it's brooding introspective mood. Brilliant.
