Fairport Convention need no introduction, in their 36 year history they have spawned huge talent, HOSTED THE Cropredy Festival and are the icons of British folk rock. Who Knows is just the start of what is sure to become a legendary series of releases as Dave and Chris Pegg have sanctioned material from their own private archives for commercial release. Who Knows is therefore Vol 1 of The Woodworm Archives and a piece of history on its own as the first ever live recording of this classic Fairport Convention line up to be released. Recorded in 1975 during the band’s ‘Rising For The Moon’ tour many say this was the pinnacle of the band’s career. Featuring Dave Swarbrick, Dave Pegg, Simon Nocol, Jerry Donahue, Bruce Rowland and the sadly missed late Trevor Lucas and Sandy Denny. This double vinyl set features an extra track to the CD release and represents a complete concert recording.

If you don’t know this album then you must have been asleep for the last 10 years! So welcome to the Fugees and the grammy award-winning “The Score” (No.1 US, No.1 UK– the biggest selling rap album of all time with over 17,000,000 units sold! Now is the chance to buy “The Score” on two beautiful slabs of 180 gram vinyl for the first time ever! Naturally such a phenomenal album has a few decent singles on it too. We’re talking the modest first hit before the album exploded “Fu-Gee-La” (No.21 UK ’96) and then we’re into the multi-platinum worldwide smash cover of Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly” (No.1 UK, No.1 US ’96) followed swiftly by the Delfonics sampled “Ready Or Not” (No.1 UK, No.1 US ’96) and, finally, a beautiful cover of Bob Marley’s classic “No Woman, No Cry” (No.2 UK ’96). Apart from the success of the above, “The Score” effectively redefined the marriage of Jamaican rhythms with the North American rap sensibility to produce a world-class, grammy-award winning album. So, HEY, if you’re going to own this piece of history at all, then the ONLY way to own it is on DOUBLE 180 gram vinyl! Another classic from the home of great vinyl!
