One of the most loved Soul/RnB groups of all time – we’re
talking the brilliant Maze (featuring Frankie Beverly) with “Anthology” –
a collection of their greatest songs and RnB hits. Maze have been working
their magic since 1977 and in that time have amassed a creditable array of
US RnB smashes most of which are featured on this superior collection.
We’re talking classics like their first single “While I’m Alone” (No.21
RnB US ’77), “Lady Of Magic” (No.13 RnB US ’77), “Working Together” (No.9
RnB US ’78), the magnificent “Feel That You’re Feeling” (No.7 RnB, No.67
Pop US ’79), “Southern Girl” (No.9 RnB US ’80) and the sadly under-rated
“The Look In Your Eyes” (No.29 RnB US ’80). Also lets’s not forget their
later hits like “Running Away” (No.7 RnB US ’81), “Before I Let Go” (No.13
RnB US ’81), “Love Is The Key” (No.5 RnB US ’83), “Back In Stride” (No.1
RnB US ’85) and “Too Many Games” (No.5 RnB US, No.36 Pop UK ’85) among
many others. Finally, would any Maze collection be complete without the
brilliant “Joy And Pain” – Maze’s true anthem and their most well known
song. An essential DOUBLE vinyl RnB purchase!

Following the success of
Phil Collins’ solo recordings, Mike Rutherford’s sideline project – Mike &
The Mechanics, hit paydirt with “Living Years” (No.2 UK, No.13 US ’88) –
their second album release. Containing the massive title track hit “The
Living Years” (No.2 UK, No.1 US), this album went a long way to showing
that Genesis had more strings to their bow than just Phil Collins!
Featuring Mike Rutherford on Bass, the highly under-rated Paul Carrack on
vocals (along with the OTHER Paul Young), Adrian Lee on keyboards and
Peter Van Hooke on drums, Mike & The Mechanics enjoyed their biggest
success with “Living Years” – subsequent albums failed to live up to the
same promise which “Living Years” showed. So, if you’re going to buy a
Mike & The Mechanics 180 gram vinyl album then this is the one dude!

MOTT is the quintessential
Mott the Hoople album and catches them on a commercial high and at a
creative peak. A couple of the producers they wanted were unavailable, so
the band decided to produce it themselves. The result was one of the best
albums of the 70's - it boasted two chart singles and bags of other great
tunes. Honaloochie Boogie and The Way From Memphis were the hit singles
reaching number 12 and 10 respectively in 1973, yet there is not one one
duff track here and all played with panache and passion. It is the fan's
favourite by a mile, while Rolling Stone magazine has called it "one of
the great lost masterpieces of modern rock". Ian Hunter has one of the
great rock voices of his generation and Mick Ronson’s guitar virtuosity is
in huge evidence on the MOTT album. Long overdue for a vinyl reissue, here
is a masterpiece of seventies rock available once again on the format it
was designed for! Mastered from the original analogue reels this is a
'must buy' album.

We took the opportunity to
re-issue Van Morrison’s debut album “Blowin’ Your Mind” on 160 gram vinyl
because there’s a legion of Van The Man fans out there who desperately
NEED Van’s early Bang material on vinyl and ever since we deleted it on
180 gram we’ve had a none-stop procession of people demanding that we
re-issue it. So here it is again dudes, back by popular demand! This album
contains all the Bang singles and Bert Burns’ produced classics including
his first U.S. smash “Brown Eyed Girl” (No.10, US, ’67), “Goodbye Baby”,
“Midnight Special”, “Ro Ro Rosey” and “Spanish Rose”. The Bang recordings
capture Van at his rawest and most soulful and are a must for all Van
aficionados. Go on. Do it now! Grab a piece of history while you still can
and get a copy on living, breathing vinyl to listen to it the way than Van
recorded it! Any later fans of ‘Van The Man’ should hear “Blowin’ Your
Mind” to place his later work in the right context.
